“It’s not too early for Christmas” – Evelyn’s Diaries

After a minor panic on my part, Halloween is now over (read more about my panic here). But it is now time to get excited about Christmas!

I have had two Christmas’ so far, but I wasn’t really sure what was going on at the time. I just remember it all being very exciting and all of the adults were drinking things out of big/tall glasses or glass bottles, laughing a lot more and being extra loud, which was all very weird.

One thing I do remember about it, is the presents! At first, I wasn’t quite sure what presents were. I just remember lots of parcels wrapped in crinkly paper. I would watch my Mammy and Daddy open them and inside, would be lots of really cool toys, which I would immediately steal from them and play with myself.

However, since last Christmas, I have had a birthday and received more of these presents. This time I knew what was inside them, so I swooped in to open them all by myself. This Christmas, I am going to be prepared. No more Mammy and Daddy getting to the toys before me, I am now a master at opening presents and finding the goodies inside.

However, word in the playgroup is…that it is too early to be thinking about Christmas! Apparently lots of people do not like to think about Christmas until a lot closer to the time. I don’t think one of my Nanna’s is like that, as she has had me watching Christmas films for the last month.

When watching these films, there is this one guy who keeps cropping up. He’s called Santa.

Now I am not too sure what this guy is up to, or what his intentions are. He seems to wield a bit too much power for my liking. He has all of the toys, he has magic reindeer which make him fly and has an army of followers taking his orders. I am particularly worried about the fact that Santa steals everyone’s milk and cookies! Nobody steals my milk…NOBODY!

Whilst I am excited about Christmas this year, it is also a time I need to be on my guard. I need to figure out what this Santa guy is up to. I have heard that Santa is going to be visiting my playgroup soon…I am planning on observing very carefully and interrogating him. He will never see it coming, I am far too sneaky. Everyone else seems very excited about him, but I am no fool…I see straight through him. He wants my milk.

Watch this space, I will bring you updates.

…Also, enjoy the pictures of me getting excited about Christmas.

This post is sooooo cute! Love it. We are all very excited for Christmas this year. The older they get, the more they know about the big occasion!

I had wondered if in the UK Father Christmas still existed

or if he has been completely taken over by Claus.

Your Nanna clearly has a passion for Christmas.

I hope he won’t take your milk or mylk.
