“Olive the Dog” – Evelyn’s Diaries

Have I told you about Olive?

Olive is the dog that lives at my Nanna’s house. I am not quite sure how she got there. Maybe my Nanna and Grandad captured her in the wild. Maybe Olive decided that she liked the look of their house and moved in. Who knows?

Either way, I am pleased that Olive lives with them. Olive is a very kind dog, she loves to play games, have cuddles and helps you eat your food. She also likes to take my Nanna and Grandad out for walks every day. My Nanna and Grandad are getting old and need the fresh air and exercise, how kind is that!

When I get dropped off at my Nanna’s house, the first thing I have to do is go and find Olive’s biscuits and leave them by her bed. Olive will then come bouncing into the room, give me a lick (which is a dog kiss) and then go eat the biscuits I left her.

However, there are times in which I need to get serious with Olive. Olive can sometimes be a cheeky doggy and starts to be naughty. When this happens, I raise my hand and in my most serious voice I shout, “ STOP IT OLIVE”. Instantly, Olive will respect my authority and follows my commands. I tried this on Daddy once…I was put on the naughty chair for 5minutes. It must only work on dogs.

Olive also loves tickles! I feel like I spend most my days tickling her belly, she just can’t get enough. I enjoy tickles too, which made me realise that Olive and I have so much in common! We both like biscuits, we like being outside, we enjoy tickles and LOVE playing with toys. However, Olive has her own toys and I have my own toys. I don’t let Olive play with my toys, as she likes to rip toys open and break them. I am not sure why. Maybe it’s because when she destroys them, my Nanna and Grandad buy more for her? Hmmm, I may test this theory.

We don’t have a doggy at my house, but because we live near woods, we see lots of rabbits and pheasants. Unfortunately, my Mammy and Daddy won’t let me keep them. As a result, I am left wondering as I look out my bedroom window, when will my very own little doggy run out from the trees to come live with me?

I guess I will have to wait for now.

My! This is so cute! My grandparents had a dog too. Her name was Xena. Unfortunately she is no longer with us.

Aw. Lovely Olive! We have a beagle and are very much in the stage with our youngest where she enjoyed splashing in the dogs water bowl and mixing her biscuits in with the water – It’s fun! *Eye roll* Haha.
