“Hot tub” – Evelyn’s Diaries

All of you who have been following my diaries for a while, will know that I am a particularly skilled swimming/deep sea diver. Any chance I get to show off my skills, I take it and love every second of it! It could be playing in the bath, finding big puddles or even just the sink in the kitchen. Wherever I am, I will find water. Daddy keeps telling me I would be very useful in a desert.

Well it turns out water is no longer very hard to find at my Nanna and Grandad’s house. This is because they have a brand new thing called a “Hot tub”.

If you are not familiar with what a hot tub is, picture this…

Imagine a large container, like a really big tub. Now imagine this really big tub is full of hot water. That’s what a hot tub is. As it turns out…I absolutely LOVE hot tubs!

My Nanna took me outside to show me her new hot tub, which she keeps in a little house in the garden. I am not very good with measurements, as I am only two and a half years old. But I would say you could fit 20 ducks in it.

Upon seeing the hot tub, I immediately wanted to get in. I didn’t even have all my swimming/diving gear with me, but I didn’t care. “Get me in that hot tub” I told Nanna. She made a few phone calls and before I knew it, Daddy had arrived with my swimming gear and all my dreams had come true.

Water nappy on. Swimming costume on. Pool toys ready. It was time to dive in!

It turns out that the water in hot tubs is quite hot, so it took me a few minutes to acclimatise. I am more used to the near freezing temperatures of the Water Babies swimming pool. However, due to all my skills in swimming, I was soon ready to commence my diving missions in the hot tub. Barely coming to the surface for breath, I dived under the water over and over again. I was so happy, I was even laughing under the water. However, please note that this can nearly make you drown so don’t do that unless you are highly skilled. Clearly my Nanna and Grandad were amazed at my swimming talent, as they couldn’t stop taking photos and videos of me.

I did get scared at one point though, because my Grandad pressed a button on the hot tub that made lots of bubbles come out of it. At first, I thought a crocodile had got into the hot tub and I was going to have to get fight it to get it out. Thankfully, it was just bubbles.

All too quickly, it was time to get out the hot tub. I hate that part. But now I know that my Nanna and Grandad have bought what is effectively a mini swimming pool for me, I think I am going to be spending plenty more time in that hot tub!
