“I have discovered the joy of Bananas” – Evelyn’s Diary

I have always been very selective about what I eat. My parents keep trying to put new things on my plate for meal times, so I politely decline their offer by throwing the strange food away. I just know what I like. Toast is my favourite. It took me a while to learn what it was called; I called it “pop” for a long time, because every time my toast was ready my parents would shout “pop” for some reason. It was a bit confusing.

However, this week something very exciting has happened. Bananas happened.

For months, my parents would keep putting these yellow little sticks in front of me. They were very enthusiastic about them, but I was having none of it. I would give the bananas a courteous nibble every now and then, which seemed to please my parents, but they kept coming back with more.

I gave in. Their persistence was impressive, so this week, I took more than a nibble. My mind was blown. It was a taste sensation. I could not get enough. I usually just do little bites on food and it takes me forever to finish a meal. Not this time, mouthful after mouthful went down like a treat.

My parents seemed very excited about this. Although, I am not sure why they have to stare the whole time I am eating, it’s a bit awkward.

So that is my weekly update, I have discovered the joy of bananas and I cannot get enough! However, don’t you dare take the skin off, or I am not touching that thing with a 10ft pole!

Thanks for reading everyone, more updates next week!
