“Squirrels, swimming and soft play. My holiday to Center Parcs” – Evelyn’s Diary

I bet you’re reading this and thinking, “it’s just another normal week, doing normal things”. Well, you’re wrong!

This week, I turned two years old! That’s right, game changer. I am a strong independent two year old, who don’t need no naps. Although, I still do have naps, otherwise I get angry at everybody, so I will keep the naps for now.

For my birthday, I have been to Center Parcs at Sherwood Forest. I love Center Parcs, it has the three S’s…Squirrels, Swimming and Soft Play. I went to Center Parcs with my Mammy and Daddy, my Nanna and Grandad and my other Nanna and Grandad. It gets confusing remembering who is who, so I call one of my Grandad’s “Daft Grandad”, as he is very silly.

I have been to Center Parcs before when I was even littler. But because I am now all grown up, I could go in the soft play by myself. It was a sense of freedom I just haven’t had on other holidays. My favourite was the slide, I would climb all the way to the top, avoid the big kids, slide down, get stuck half way and then shuffle my little bottom to the end. Then repeat.

The slide was good, but the swimming was awesome! I like to run around the children’s pool playing in the fountains, but then, disaster struck. On my birthday, we arrived at the children’s pool and my parents wouldn’t let me in. I was outraged. I stomped my feet, I cried and let everyone know about my disgust at the event unfolding. My parents were telling me some rubbish about the pool being closed and that we couldn’t go in, but I could see the water in the pool.

It has been a very nice weekend and I enjoyed my birthday with my family. I didn’t really understand why they set fire to my cake and asked me to put it out before eating it, but everyone sang after I did it which was nice.

I don’t want my birthday party to end, so I want everyone to wish me a happy birthday in the comments, I am two years old after all!
