“Trips with my Nanna’s” – Evelyn’s Diaries

What a week!

Honestly, I haven’t stopped this week. I have been to one Nanna’s house, then the other Nanna’s house, I have been to play groups and libraries, I couldn’t wait to just relax on the sofa with a hot cup of milk and watch Peppa Pig.

I have had a fun week though. This week, I went to my first playgroup with my Nanna. There were lots of other children running around and playing with toys. However, one of these other children crossed the line!

Looking across the room, I spotted a toy. It was a good toy. It was a tractor…soon to be my tractor. Suddenly, out of nowhere, another little boy swooped in. He took my tractor. I was stunned. I looked at my Nanna, who I thought would leap up and retrieve my toy, but no, she was just taking pictures of me. This was entirely unhelpful and she clearly didn’t understand the gravity of the situation.

I had to take action myself. So I followed him. Walking across the room, I could feel my heart beating faster as I approached him. I had a clear tactic, which was to stand and stare at him. I was sure that the intensity of my gaze would let him know the error of his ways. Unfortunately, it didn’t work. Mainly because I got bored after about 10 seconds and went and played with something else. I will be back to see that boy next week, this isn’t over.

With my other Nanna, I went to the library. There were lots of really fun activities and again there were lots of other children. These children were quite loud though. I was trying to glue my dinosaur on to a piece of paper and I couldn’t concentrate at all. My Mammy and Daddy are lucky I am so quiet and mature. Although later that night, I did scream at them and throw an empty cup across the kitchen because I couldn’t play with the plug.

Anyway, it’s been a packed schedule this week, but I have enjoyed every minute…except for the part with that boy.

Also…bubbles are awesome.
