“Water slides and trampolines” – Evelyn’s Diaries

Yes this post is late. Get over it! It’s been sunny and I have been busy enjoying the weather. All good things are worth waiting for aren’t they?

Anyway, It has been an action packed week! The sun is out, it’s nice a warm, which means only one thing…lots of time playing in the garden!

This week we had a little garden party at my house. Nanna and Grandad came over as well which was a nice surprise. But do you know what was an even better surprise? The fact that they brought me a present! I love presents. This present in particular had me jumping for joy! You will understand the pun, when I tell you that the present I got was a trampoline! So do you get it now? “Jumping for joy”, trampoline, you jump on trampolines, you see what I did there?

I have played on trampolines before, but this is the first trampoline that I can call my own. It is green and blue and is the bounciest thing ever! Even though I haven’t had it long, I can do all sorts of tricks. For example, I can jump straight up in the air, I can jump slightly to the left and slightly to the right. However, my best trick is to do a massive jump and twist at the same time. I look incredibly graceful when I do it.

Not only did I have trampolines to play with in the garden, my Mammy and Daddy also made me my very own water slide! We had a paddling pool, which is basically a swimming pool for little people, then my Mammy made the genius move of putting my slide into the padding pool. I must have gone down that slide 100 times over the course of the afternoon, I was having so much fun.

The best part, was that because everybody else was too big for the slide and the trampoline, it meant that I didn’t have to share them with anyone. My Nanna came into the paddling pool for a little while, however, she doesn’t like water very much, so I was able to splash her out of it. My Daddy came in every now and then to cool down, but he was having some of his special “Daddy drinks” that he calls “beer”. So he kept leaving to get more of those.

Our garden party was a lot of fun and by the end of the day, I was completely worn out. I tried to keep sliding and bouncing as long as I could, but eventually, my little toddler legs ran out of energy and soon it was time for Nanna and Grandad to go home. Hopefully we have a lot more sunny days for me to fill with bouncing!

Thank you for my present Nanna and Grandad!
