So I am going through a bit of a cat phase at the moment. Don’t ask why, I honestly don’t know. I just woke up one morning and thought to myself, “Yeah, I think I will crawl around on the floor and meow over and over”. It was that day when I became, Evelyn the cat!
When I think back, I do remember seeing two cats at my friend Oliver’s house. I remember chasing them around the house and enjoyed stroking them. Maybe this has stuck with me and led me to this point where I have found out, that I am now the cat.
I am not a cat all of the time, it is more a spur of the moment type of thing. Or should I say…a PURR of the moment thing! Hehe, I know…I’m hilarious.
I could be just walking around the kitchen, minding my own business. Mammy could be making my tea, Daddy typing away on his laptop (something to do with a blog or something…I don’t know) and then before I know it, I am crawling around at my Daddy’s feet, meowing at him.
My Daddy is not much of a cat person. So I don’t think he takes it too well when he is telling me my tea is ready and I need to come over the table, and my response is to meow, then crawl off in the other direction.
I am going to let you all into a little secret. I know I am not a cat. How could I be? I am an Evelyn. However, I am having far too much fun using my cat phase to just do whatever I want.

My genius has no limits. You can’t give a cat a timeout or take away a cats toy if they are naughty. Cats don’t have bed times and cats eat their food whenever they want. I have complete freedom as a cat to do whatever I want. However, Daddy made a genius move of his own. In response to my disobedience/cat based escape plans, my Daddy informed me that cats can instead be put outside if they are being naughty!
This made me rethink a few things. First of all, I didn’t have my shoes or jacket on, so if I was put outside, my feet and body will be cold. I didn’t want that. Secondly, it was getting dark and it looked a bit scary outside. Finally, all of my toys were inside the house, so it would be really boring outside.
I didn’t want to take the chance, so my cat phase may have to come to an end. To be honest, I was starting to get a bit bored being a cat anyway. There were times where I wanted a snack or a drink, but I couldn’t ask for them, as cats can’t talk. So whilst it was funny annoying Mammy and Daddy, I think it is time to hang up the whiskers and find a brand new way of annoying them! Shouldn’t take too long.
