“I found Nemo!” – Evelyn’s Diaries

It turns out that Nemo wasn’t that hard to find, he was in a place called Tynemouth Aquarium…so I’m not sure what all the fuss was about.

Before visiting Tynemouth Aquarium, I had no idea what an aquarium was. My Daddy explained to me that it was the fish’s house. So I was very excited when I was told I was visiting the fish’s house, with my Daddy and Nanna.

It was quite a long drive there and we went through a dark tunnel, which was a lot of fun. However, my Daddy was very angry at the tunnel a few days later. Apparently you have to pay to go through this tunnel and he forgot to pay. Now he has to pay a lot more for going through the tunnel. But I don’t care, I still got to see the fish.

I was very excited when I arrived at the aquarium, straight away I could see a MASSIVE tank of fish. I ran over to have a look and said “Hello” to them all. There were millions of them, including lots of Nemos and Dorys.

Moving on to the next fish tank, I saw a brand new animal. My Nanna said they were called turtles. Some of the turtles were swimming and others were lying under a big light. I was rather confused why none of them talk like in the films, but suddenly…I was distracted!!

I looked to my right and I saw an even BIGGER tank, with even BIGGER fish, so I ran straight over! These fish were bigger than me and I couldn’t take my eyes off them…until I saw some steps and had some fun climbing up and down them for a while.

We visited lots of different tanks, with lots of different fish. Eventually, we went outside and I was introduced to an animal called a seal. Seals are so cool! We watched the seals do jumps out of the water, do spins, give each other kisses and lots of other tricks. However, watching the seals eat so many fish, made me hungry. So I made sure my Daddy and Nanna knew I was hungry, by shouting as loud and as long as I could. Sure enough, it worked and we left the seals.

We ended our trip to the aquarium by visiting the gift shop. I was very lucky to have been given some money for my birthday by lots of lovely people, so I was able to buy myself a toy. There was so much choice! I eventually settled on a warm and cuddly toy seal.

In total, we went around the aquarium 3 or 4 times, it was so much fun. But it was very tiring and made me very hungry, so we got some lunch before travelling home. I had my favourite, chicken nuggets and chips.

…I then threw up my chicken nuggets and chips all over my clothes before going home. It was a great day.
