“We meet again Santa!” – Evelyn’s Diaries

Santa

For those of you who have been following my diary from the start (which better be all of you!), you may remember that last Christmas, Santa and I didn’t really see eye to eye. I was convinced that Santa was breaking into people’s houses to steal their milk and cookies.

As a result, I made the decision to confront him about this when I was taken to see him. Long story short, we made a deal that I will always be on the “nice list”. In exchange I will always provide milk and cookies for when he arrives at Christmas. We shook hands and the deal was done. Feel free to go back and read this diary entry by clicking here.

As quick as a flash, it is Christmas time again and it is time for both myself and Santa to follow up our ends of the deal. However, I do have to be honest, my perception of Santa has changed from last year.

Santa may not be all bad

Over this last year, I have done a lot of maturing and growing up. I have also read a lot of books about Santa and seen some of his films. Therefore, I am now happy to acknowledge that Santa is not a cookie stealing criminal, he is fact the most magical and exciting person I have ever met!

Can you actually believe that he can fly around in his sleigh, pulled by magical reindeer, going down people’s chimneys, just to deliver them lovely presents?! Think about it, the amount of effort that must go into packing the sleigh, setting the sat nav over and over again and making sure everybody gets the right presents. All he asks for in return, is a couple of biscuits and a drink of milk!

Meeting Santa…again

As a result, I have come to realise that Santa is somebody to look forward to seeing. Thankfully, I had my opportunity to meet him again this year. As luck would have it, despite Santa delivering presents to children all over the world, he had arranged to meet children at a local garden centre near my house! He could have been anywhere in the world, but he ends up 10minutes from my house…talk about good luck!

The garden centre had set up a “Christmas walkway”, full of singing/dancing Yeti’s, Christmas lights, Santa’s sleigh and of course, his reindeer! We even bought food so we could feed the reindeer, they must have been starving from all that flying to get Santa to the garden centre from the North Pole.

When it was my turn to meet Santa, we walked down a dark tunnel that was filled with Christmas lights, before we arrived at Santa’s little room. It had a huge Christmas tree, Christmas decorations everywhere and comfy chairs to sit in. Whereas last year I was ready to fight Santa, this year, I was more starstruck and couldn’t speak!

The magic present

I sat down and Santa immediately knew my name and started listing all the things I really like. My mind was blown, he really is magic! Suddenly, we heard a noise come from Santa’s chimney which was next to us. At the bottom of the chimney was a basket and to my amazement, a present had fallen down the chimney into the basket! The present had my name on and was for me!

I couldn’t believe my eyes. Santa had made a magical present arrive from nowhere and it was for me! Santa handed me the present and we opened it together. It was an amazing white unicorn toy, with rainbow coloured hair. It will look perfect in my bedroom! I was speechless, how could I have ever been angry at Santa! I could never have been able to defeat his magic powers.

It was then time for a photo with Santa as I hopped up onto his knee. He showed me his Santa watch, which he said was give to him by his elves, but it was broken. I hope some different elves make my toys if that is the case. Imagine giving Santa a broken watch, these elves need to show more respect!

Saying goodbye to Santa…or so I thought!

Sadly, it was then time to say bye to Santa. Still awestruck, I whispered goodbye and walked back down the tunnel and back into the garden centre. Meeting Santa this year has made me 100 times more excited! The man can have as many glasses of milk and as many cookies as he likes, so long as I get more magical presents!

I couldn’t wait to get to Christmas day for Santa to come to my house so I might be able to see him again. However, when I was going to Water Babies with my Daddy, who do I bump into in the lobby? Only Santa Clause!

What are the odds, he has a whole world full of children to see and I see him twice in a week, both times only 10minutes from my house. He must have some very fast reindeer!
