“Hair cuts and teeth checking” – Evelyn’s Diaries

It has been a week of self maintenance for me. I have learned that it is very important to look after your health and hygiene. Although thinking about it, I do still wee and poo in my pants, which isn’t exactly the most hygienic thing to do. Oh well, nobody is perfect.

I had two big appointments this week. One was to get my hair cut, so I don’t turn into a one big hair ball. The second was an appointment at the dentist, to make sure my teeth still work.

My Hair Cut

I have been to get my haircut once before. My Mammy and I had gone into the big shop, full of friendly ladies and I remember the shop smelled very nice. I sat on my Mammy’s knee and they wrapped me in a big blanket and starting chopping off my hair with scissors. At the end of the hair cut, thankfully I did still have some hair left, so they put it a pretty pattern called a plait.

However, this time when I went to the nice smelling hair cut shop, they did something different! They cut my hair the same, but this time they put my hair between some hot sticks. My Mammy called them “straighteners”, because they made my hair straight. However, my Mammy also has another stick at home she calls “curlers” as they make her hair curly. I am pretty sure my Mammy is just making up these names so she doesn’t forget what they do.

Anyway, take a look at the picture to see the results of my haircut. Tell me how pretty I look in the comments!

Trip to the Dentist

My next appointment was at the dentist. It has been a little while since I was last at the dentist, all I remember is that a strange lady was trying to put metal things in my mouth. So I refused to open my mouth.

However, I am now older, wiser and more mature, so I understand that this lady is trained to put metal things in your mouth and that’s her job. My Daddy told me that this lady makes sure that my teeth still work and that they are nice and clean. Now that I understood what was happening, I was more than happy to open my mouth and let her check my teeth.

Reading between the lines, I think I must have had the greatest teeth that the dentist had ever seen! She kept calling me a good girl, praising how clean my teeth were and immediately afterwards, I was given a sticker. My Daddy didn’t get a sticker, I didn’t see any other grown ups leave with stickers. So I am pretty sure that my teeth have set a new record for how clean they are.

Something exciting…

New hair, clean white teeth…it is safe to say that I am going to be looking great for my birthday that is coming up. That’s right, in a couple of weeks this two year old is about to become a three year old! After everyone else having birthdays, it is finally time for mine. So you can expect to hear all about this in upcoming diaries!

But for now, make sure you all brush your teeth, cut your hair and try to remember not to wee and poo in your pants, I am still working on that last one!
